La Noche

The television is on,with the volume low.The presenter's mouthopens and closes.I cannot hear what he says,only see the movement.

There is a sealed envelope on the table.I do not open it.I turn it over,leave it with the name facing down.It stays sealed.

The neighbour takes the rubbish down at eleven,always at the same time.I take mine down.The bag wets the floorof the lift.

There are folded leaflets in the mailboxand a notice from the building.I close the mailbox.

I switch off the corridor light,stand in the dark.The heater starts in the kitchen.A pipe drips.I do not turn on another light.

Hay un sobre cerrado en la mesa.No lo abro.Le doy la vuelta,lo dejo con el nombre hacia abajo.Sigue cerrado.

La vecina baja la basura a las once,siempre a la misma hora.Yo bajo la mía.La bolsa moja el pisodel ascensor.

En el buzón hay publicidad dobladay un aviso del edificio.Cierro el buzón.

Apago la luz del pasillo,me quedo en la oscuridad.El calentador se enciende en la cocina.Una tubería gotea.No enciendo otra luz.
